Leading financial trade publication cites analytic data capability for win

Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the leading analytic data solutions company, was named the winner in the data management technology category of The Banker's 2012 Innovation in Banking Technology Awards program. The Banker, which features an article on the awards program in the June issue of the magazine and on its website, is one of the world's premier banking and finance resource and is read in more than 180 countries.

"Data has never been more important for banks. Swiftly evolving regulatory demands and increased levels of complexity across the business has meant that the need to collect, analyze and warehouse data is greater than ever before. A judging panel of more than 20 banking chief information officers (CIOs) from across the globe felt that Teradata's suite of data management technology helped financial services firms achieve this better than any other," said John Beck, trading and technology editor, The Banker.

“Teradata is honored to receive this award from such a prestigious publication. To maintain our market leadership, we continue to invest in technology and people to develop the most advanced and price-competitive family of data warehouse platforms, database, enterprise analytics, professional services, and partner solutions. Teradata has a long history of enabling financial institutions to leverage customer, operations, financial and risk data to outmaneuver their competition by making the best decision possible,” said John Burke, vice president of industry marketing and solutions, Teradata Corporation.

The judging process for the Innovation in Banking Technology Awards was rigorous; The Banker invited applications from the world’s leading financial technology companies. These applications were then scrutinized by independent panel of judges, all of whom are CIO's or senior heads of technology at major financial institutions.
