Experian is seeking an exceptional candidate to be part of our DBA team. Our DBAs manage all of the departmental data resources in a DB2 ESE/DPF database environment on IBM P575 servers within an AIX OS.
Our DB2 Applications DBA works with development teams and DBAs to design, build, populate and support DB2 databases/data warehouses in support of project development. This development uses not only our Enterprise Data Store and Data Mart environments, but also supports our Web-based product line.
Ongoing analysis of database performance
Design and development of data models
Creation and maintenance of database tables
Data quality and integrity analysis
Interaction with development teams to perform data requirement analysis, and implement physical databases consistent with those requirements
Interaction with the UNIX administrators to monitor DB2 performance
BA/BS or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years DBA experience working with DB2 ESE/DPF in a large AIX server environment
Extensive knowledge and strong skills in DB2 database
Experienced DBA for application support
Administration experience, including database design and object creation, performance tuning, and database application support
Experience preparing/maintaining data models
Strong knowledge of UNIX (AIX) scripting tools
Ability to review SQL for performance effectiveness and efficiencies prior to production implementation
Experience using other operating systems and/or other database management systems is of additional interest
Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel
Knowledge of JAVA as used in a DB2 web based application a PLUS
Experience using OLAP tools in a BI environment a PLUS
Familiarity with automotive data and terminology a PLUS
Rotational off-hour on-call support is also a requirement for the position.
