Description:
Due to expansion of our Teradata offerings, we are seeking a highly seasoned Teradata DBA to perform consulting services centered around the implementation of our product suite. We are seeking an “A” Teradata player who has extensive experience in both the business and technical aspects of Teradata. This is a very high profile position which will provide our services team with expert product and technical knowledge support. In this role you will be a vital and integral part of our success! You will have unprecedented access to many of the top Teradata customers worldwide as well as top-level Teradata management. This is a rare, unique and highly beneficial position for any Teradata DBA.
Responsibilities:
The primary goal of this position is to provide our customers with in-depth product and market knowledge on our Teradata product to insure customer’s success of our solutions. This is a highly exciting and challenging role. The individual we are seeking will have demonstrated Teradata software industry expertise and credentials that clearly establish credibility among our existing and potential clients. Your responsibilities will include partnering directly with clients to find the most effective and timely Teradata focused solutions for our products; achievement of service targets; managing work flow priorities; maintaining high visibility with our clients and providing thought leadership externally and within the organization as you work to present a portfolio of customer focused business solutions through the application of our software. The individual we are seeking will be able to effectively combine high level conceptual thinking with hands on Teradata technical knowledge while maintaining a dynamic presence with our clients. This position calls for the ability to write and present documentation and reports in a clear and concise manner, speak, read and write English fluently. Travel is a requirement.
Example of duties:
• OWNERSHIP OF IMPLEMENTATION
• Match environment requirements with our best solution.
• Install our products in customer's environments utilizing most of the ETL tools, writing UDFs, use of TPump, maximizing performance by making environment adjustments or configuration tuning, etc.
• Fulfill or exceed your professional services quota plans
• Present product demonstrations
• Prepare and deliver Statements of Work
• Compile client detailed environment information
• Augment other Teradata technical teams on a as needed basis
• Assist with RFI & RFPs
• Arrange product shipments
• Travel (up to 50%)
Location:
- Stamford, CT Headquarters
Required Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of documented Teradata experience as DBA
• Must have experience with and be very familiar with t he ETL tools, writing UDFs and TPump.
• Teradata Certified
• Exceptionally strong presenter and persuader
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with diverse personalities
• Strong business acumen
• Understanding of the role of technology in solving business issues and improving ROI
• Travel (up to 50%)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Teradata Certified Master
• CISSP Certified
• PMI Certified (PMP)
• Experience with PCI, HIPPA, Sarbanes-Oxley and/or California 1386.
Reports to:
Director, Technical Services
Salary:
Total compensation = Base + variable compensation (Commissions). Base salary is negotiable for the right person.
