RESPONSIBILITIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary:
Manages the development and implementation of the system infrastructure.
Leads cross-functional teams that design, develop, and implement systems architecture and supporting infrastructure.
Manages the continuous enhancement of the systems infrastructure to meet challenging business requirements.
Responsible for achieving financial objectives of approved systems plans.
Formulates and recommends standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the system.
Participates in the planning for retirement of systems programs, and migration of systems infrastructure.
Essential Functions Include:
Participate in cross-functional work groups to assess business needs, develop a systems architecture strategy, and implementation plans. Determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and system capabilities.
Analyze, design and implement system architecture. Independently formulates detailed program specifications using structured analysis and design.
Write documentation describing systems architecture, logic, coding, and corrections. May develop user manuals and operating procedures. May train users and provide technical assistance to resolve operating issues.
Formulates and recommends standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the system. Participates in the planning for retirement of systems programs, and migration of systems infrastructure.
Provide assistance to IS team members with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems and/or programming knowledge. Provide on-the-job training for new or less experienced team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
-College degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
-10+ years experience in a large-scale, multi-platform, multi-tier processing environment, preferably 2 years at ESI
-Strong background/relevant experience (4-6 years) in Data Warehousing concepts and tools. Preferably Teradata or other major relational databases.
-Background and working knowledge in logical and physical data modeling.
-Thorough knowledge of programming concepts, procedures and practices
-Detailed knowledge of programming languages
-Demonstrated ability to develop customized solutions to meet business requirements
-Demonstrated leadership, planning and negotiation skills
Project management experience and proven ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple deadlines
-Proven experience in structured application development, specifically systems requirements and design
-Strategic thinker with ability to formulate plans, strategies and outcomes
-Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex architectural issues with innovative solutions
-Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines
-Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
-Extremely detail oriented
-Strong customer service focus
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Familiarity with health care or PBM industry very helpful
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines
