We have an immediate need for a Teradata DBA in NYC.
Teradata DBA with strong background in Architecture, Design, Development and Optimization of Teradata driven databases.
Length: 1 year
Location: NYC
Required Experience:
Optimize the database environments with respect to data access methods, access performance, storage, data integrity, system performance and system availability
Work closely with application developers to optimize data access and integrate the database platforms with application server environments
Improve Performance of the existing Teradata environment by reviewing existing application code & performance reports to enhance poor performing applications.
Skills Required 7+ years hands-on Teradata experience with atleast 1+ years of DBA experience
Expert Performance Tuning skills for large databases including addressing CPU, DATA & I/O skew
Excellent experience with data loading utilities including Fast Load, Multiload
Excellent SQL coding & tuning skills with in-depth knowledge in analyzing SQL Explain plans.
Proficient in UNIX scripting using Korn Shell, sed, awk and Perl
Required Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
8+ years data architecture experience relative to data warehouse design, BI solution delivery and/or master data management
2+ years leading technical projects efforts including project planning, design, build, test, and data conversion/migration
Proven experience implementing large scale Teradata solutions
