Teradata DBA

6+ Months (with possibility of going perm)
No Visas or 3rd parties
Required:
• 5+ years experience as a Teradata DBA with in-depth understanding of designing, implementing, maintaining, managing, and performance tuning Teradata databases including BAR solution for backups.
• Understanding and ability to communicate principles and design tradeoffs for a mix of Teradata databases, data warehouses, and pre-packaged software analytics
• Ability to mentor and train others to be capable Teradata DBAs
Desired:
• Experience implementing, managing, and performance tuning any or all of the following software packages on Teradata platform:
o Siebel
o CRM Analytics
o PeopleSoft
o EPM Analytics
o Hyperion Financial Manager (consolidation software)
• Experience with Linux
• Experience implementing and tuning DataStage ETL software
• Experience with Teradata's Manufacturing Logical Data Model
Responsibilities:
Assist in design, implementation, management, and performance tuning of new Teradata environment; mentor and train other employees to be capable Teradata DBAs; Mentor and train others in Teradata database design principles to help them understand tradeoffs in mixing Teradata databases with data warehouses and pre-packaged software analytics (such as Siebel and PeopleSoft).
