I am relatively new to Teradata SQL. In almost each of the six Teradata SQL reference manuals, the usage of a clause is explained in a particular notation. I am having difficulty understanding that notation and hence unable to understand the syntax. Can anybody tell me how to read that notation? Please provide a document or a link to a document/webpage that describes that notation.

Thanks,

ND

In each SQL manual there's an appendix "Notation Conventions"

Dieter,

Thank you for letting me know about this. Indeed, the notations conventions in appendix 'A' explains all the syntax diagram conventions.

Thanks again,
