These positions are with a Federal Government client and require Sensitive Clearance. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following security requirements to be considered.
*Citizenship - must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
*Must have lived and worked in the US for a minimum of the last 7 years.
*US Citizens: Can not have traveled outside of the US for more than 3 consecutive months in the last 5 years.
*Green Card Holder: Can not have traveled outside of the US for more than 30 consecutive days in the last 5 years.
*Special exemptions for Military and other government order duties with clearance.
Scope and assess change requests and reported defects in order to provide recommended solutions and associated level of effort and time estimates.
Perform ETL and view design adhering to ETL development standards for a large, complex Teradata warehouse environment.
Perform application development, enhancement, and maintenance support for ETL application code for services ranging from simple to extremely complex.
As needed: peer review of code, design test plans, and base performance validation.
Design, development and continual improvement of test scripts. Implementation of test plans for all program changes.
Complete all mandatory application documentation.
Evaluate, plan, manage, track, and provide status on system maintenance, enhancement, and support activities at a task level.
Provide advanced support for all production failures as assigned and support and comply with company problem management standards and processes.
Required:
A Bachelor's degree in a business, computer science, information systems or related field. Additional work experience may substitute for college, but not vice versa.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in the information technology field.
Minimum of 3+ years strong NCR Teradata and SQL, UNIX, Data Warehouse Modeling, Teradata Utilities, Aggregates and building efficient views; other SQL and UNIX experience plus Teradata certification may be substituted for years of Teradata experience.
Certification in Teradata and Teradata SQL preferred.
Applicant's must be able to successfully:
1. Use Teradata utilities fastload, multiload, tpump to load data.
2. Write BTEQ scripts to transform data.
3. Write Fastexport scripts to export data.
4. Write, test and implement Teradata Fastload, Multiload and Bteq scripts, dml and ddl)
5. Construct Kornshell driver routines (write, test and implement UNIX scripts).
6. Write views based on user and/or reporting requirements.
7. Gather system design requirements, design and write system specifications. Build and maintain project plans.
8. Lead conference calls. Estimate work efforts and coordinate activities among work groups.
9. Will be expected to be available for on-call response in order to provide 24x7 emergency response capabilities.
10. Occasional business travel may be required.
