0802012 - Teradata DBA
Start Date: 2 weeks from acceptance.
Anticipated Assignment Duration: Up to 60 Months
General Qualifications
Degree Preference: BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Management
Certification Requirement: Teradata Certified Professional (Administrator) preferred but not required
Assignment
The candidate will be responsible for the physical implementation and maintenance of Teradata database objects in three warehouse environments (Development - 4 nodes, Test - 8 nodes, and Production - 12 nodes.)
Primary Responsibilities
1) Process customer requests to create new databases and database objects. Process requests to modify existing databases and database objects.
2) Be available to provide 24-hour on-call support for all Teradata systems as needed
3) Assist application developers with performance tuning of application queries
4) Monitor databases for compliance with internal standards. Update database definitions as needed to ensure compliance with standards.

Required Technical Skills
1) DBA-Teradata - Expert with 5 year(s) experience.
2) System Administration-Teradata - Expert with 5 year(s) experience.
Preferred Technical Skills
1) System Administration-UNIX - Intermediate with 3 year(s) experience.
2) DBA-Oracle - Intermediate with 3 year(s) experience.
Working Environment
Work Location: SSH 3630
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On-call Requirement: assist with after hours on-call support
Travel Requirement: none
