Nationwide’s Customer Insights and Analytics team is seeking a Data Governance Director. Seeking individuals with 10+ years of experience leading and managing customer databases.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage enterprise data governance program including data ownership definition, data certification process and standards, compliance, privacy, visibility and metadata management.
* Partner with IT and key business leaders and management to successfully drive data governance initiatives
* Enforce data quality standards and participate in identifying and resolving data quality issues.
* Analyze the data lifecycle processes and partner with appropriate operational system or analytical data/application owners to ensure adherence to documented data governance standards to:
Improve processes that capture and process the data
Improve data quality within existing databases
Improve the processes that summarize and report the data
* Ensure data quality issues or required process changes are reported to appropriate owner and tracked for resolution.
* Create, regularly review and update as required data governance processes and procedures
* Work with development and infrastructure teams to implement processes and security.
* Record, organize and make available for utilization business definition and appropriate metadata to ensure users have sufficient information to ensure data is used in appropriate context.
* Document and edit accurate data quality standards (including format, content, and data dependency).
* Maintain strong industry affiliations in both Financial Services and Data Management
Job Requirements:
* Minimum 10 years related experience in data governance and/or data management with 7 years experience leading a team or functional group. Experience with customer data preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in process change management. Must be able to drive change through the organization, focusing on process and technology changes needed to ensure data quality.
* Ability to engage resources outside of direct control to achieve objectives.
* Effective communicator – Ability to present strategy and vision content to Business and IT senior management and gain agreement.
* Able to understand and integrate with business objectives.
* Strong process viewpoint.
