Also responsible for various Teradata System DBA tasks and for the administration and support of the CRM application. This position reports to the Manager of IT Data Warehouse.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Responsible for design, development, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of data extract, staging, transformation and load procedures to populate and update the data warehouse from the source systems.Responsible for the quality, accuracy, currency and validity of the warehouse data.Responsible for developing test plans, error routines, auditing thresholds, job schedules, metadata and documentation.Designs, implements and supports data warehousing.Monitors data files, database performance, system utilization, system configuration, and performs growth analysis and capacity planning.Plans and implements data models and database designs; resolves database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies.Maintains data standards, creates ETL and database documentation, including data policies, procedures and metadata definitions.Ensures that the mission critical databases and devices are available and operating year-round, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Designs, implements and supports a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plan that encompasses data warehousing best practices and design guidelines.Controls database access permissions and privileges.Defines user interfaces and functional specifications. Responsible for evaluation, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, trouble-shooting, version control and support of the CRM application and the Mid Tier servers.Responsible for working with the CRM users to gather requirements for the design and creation of CRM Legends, troubleshoot and resolve problems, and provide instruction to maximize customer utilization and satisfaction.QUALIFICATIONS:A successful candidate in this position must have 3 years of data warehouse analysis, design, and development experience including 2 years of Teradata DBA experience. Strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional databases is required. Experience with NT and UNIX operating environments including scripting, commands, utilities, and scheduling jobs is required. Strong knowledge of string parsing and data manipulation is required. Previous DataStage and/or Informatica and Trillium experience is a plus. Previous Teradata CRM experience is a plus.A successful candidate must have a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required. This position interfaces with all departments, other IT staff and outside vendors. Must have experience working directly with customers in understanding business needs.
