Hillcd,Have you tried to run the "Database Setup" utility, located under "Start>Programs>Teradata Manager 7.1"? If so, what name have you given to the Database, at "Database name"? Can you try to fill this field with the values "dbc" or "DemoTDAT"? Are you still getting the error message?I hope this helps!

Cannot create dbcmngr database

I am having a problem creating the dbcmngr database for the demo cd.

I am receving an error.

MTDP: EM_NOHOST(224): name not in HOSTS file or names database.
Code=224 Function=1

Any guidance that can be given for this problem will be greatly appreciated.
