I have got the Teratom Books on Physical implementation and Teradata the ultimate companion ( Soft copies). I found these books to be excellent. Very clear,simple and to the point. Can any one tell me where can I get the soft copies of other books on the teratom series. The hardcopy is too expensive and I can't afford that. Hello, I am new to useing Teradata. I have been useing MS SQL for over a year now. In MS SQL i am used to haveing a graphical interface to make the tables and drag and drop the foreign keys. I am haveing trouble linking tables in Teradata Adminstrator. Keeps telling me user does not have rights to create. (tried on the tdadmin and tduser). anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks

Decimal Data Type Query

I am loading 999...99 (18 times) into a teradata table field whose definition is ABC DECIMAL(18,0) NOT NULL COMPRESS 0. But when I see loaded data it is 1000...00 (1 then 18 zeros). I am unable to figure out why this is happening. I am using Ab Initio while for loading the data.The data field definition in Ab Initio is decimal("|", maximum_length=19) ABC i.e. maximum length is 19 and also | (pipe) separated.Please help....Regards,Anshul

I just took the practice exam titled “Test #1: Teradata Basics V2R5” and do not understand the supplied answer to question #7 (below). I think the correct selections are “dependent data mart” and “logical data mart”; however, the system states the correct selections are “operational data store” and “logical data mart”.

Would someone please explain this as soon as possible? I am scheduled to take the exam next Monday, March 19, 2007.
