Job description: We are Operations Inc, a human resources consulting firm located in Stamford, CT. A client of ours specializing in enterprise data security is seeking a Teradata Consulting Engineer to work in their headquarters located in Stamford, Connecticut. Our client's mission is to protect the most valuable assets that a company has: its enterprise data. The primary goal of this position is to provide prospects with in-depth product and market knowledge on a Teradata product to ensure prospect's purchase of our client's solutions. In this role you will have the ability to strategize, design, create and execute new sales solutions. This is an exciting and challenging role.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include partnering directly with sales to find the most effective and timely solutions; achievement of service targets; managing work flow priorities; maintaining high visibility with our prospects and providing thought leadership externally and within the organization as you work to present a portfolio of customer focused business solutions through the application of the company's software. The individual we are seeking will be able to effectively combine high-level conceptual thinking with hands on Teradata technical knowledge while maintaining a dynamic presence with our prospects. This position calls for the ability to write and present documentation and reports in a clear and concise manner.
At first, you will focus primarily on only one type of the company's software for Teradata. Once you have mastered this area you will be expected to expand your knowledgebase to include other databases/platforms. Additional responsibilities will include the following:
TECHNICAL OWNERSHIP OF SALE. (Partner at the hip with Sales) Present product demonstrations. Prepare and deliver Statements of Work. Compile prospect detailed environment information. Match environment requirements with best company solution. Go to prospect sites to conduct successful Proofs of Concepts. Act as technical resource for sales and prospects as they navigate their way through the sale cycle. Assist with RFI & RFPs. Arrange product shipments. Implement customer solution after purchase.
Requirements:
The individual we are seeking will have demonstrated Teradata software industry expertise and credentials that clearly establish credibility among our existing and potential clients. Additional requirements include:
5 + years of documented Teradata experience as DBA or Sales Engineer. Teradata Certified. Exceptionally strong presenter and persuader. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to get along with diverse personalities. Strong business acumen. Understanding of the role of technology in solving business issues and improving ROI. Travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teradata Certified Master. CISSP Certified. PMI Certified. (PMP) Previous selling or presales experience of security solutions. Experience with PCI, HIPPA, Sarbanes-Oxley and/or California 1386.
Salary: $90k-105k
