Hi

Can anyone explain what is a wrk table and what is its usage? Do we have to create it explicitly or does the loader utility creates it by default for each target table ? Can we use this table to track errors?

Thanks

hi,

work tables are needed by the load utilities to log errors and assist load process. Just the work table name has to be supplied and the utility takes care of of the rest.

thx

Hi

So I have to mention the wrk table names at the time of creation of the utility script ? What happens if I do not mention any table names?
Thanks

hi,

you can specify the work and error tables using below format(eg. MLoad) in your load script :

..........
WORKTABLES Database.WT_
ERRORTABLES Database.ET_
Database.UV_
.............

if you dont specify anything using the keywords WORKTABLES and/or ERRORTABLES, teradata aumatically creates these tables and maintains it.

thx
