Enhancement Request Process
The following describes the process for handling users' enhancement requests (ERs). This process is supported by the PARTNERS Product Advisory Council and NCR.
  • ERs may be sent by visiting the Web at http://www.teradata-partners.com/ and filling out the enhancement
request form that can be found there. When the PAC receives an ER, the ER will be assigned a temporary
number and a copy will be sent to NCR (with author's identity removed). An acknowledgment will be
         communicated to the author.
  • On a monthly basis, the PAC, in discussion with NCR, will formally accept ERs. Things they will take into
         consideration are:
  • Duplication with existing ERs
  • Clarity
  • Feasibility
  • Normally, they will either be given an official number/category or be placed in their final disposition. Alternatively, the author will be contacted directly to ask for specific clarification or to accept a specific amendment. In any case, the author will be made aware of the status.

The PAC will advise on the customer value of ERs (high, medium, low).

NCR will advise on the cost of implementing ERs (high, medium, low).

At the author's request, an ER immediately moved to final disposition will be given an official number and category.

At least twice per year, the PAC and NCR will assess and discuss the status of each ER that has an official number. NCR will advise the PAC on progress in the incorporation of each ER into the release schedules of products and services. As part of this assessment, those not moved to final disposition will be given a value rating and/or prioritized by the PAC. The authors of those moved to final disposition will be notified.

The result of each assessment will be published to the user community and to NCR. This will include the assigned value ratings and/or priorities, metrics on status changes, and the list of ERs moved to final disposition since the previous publication.

The PAC will use the prioritized list to influence the NCR release schedules and content. At intervals of no more than three years, the PAC will survey the user community to prioritize the ERs. The PAC will aim to carry this out approximately six months after significant releases of the product suite. The PAC will not change the priorities voted by the users.
