Auckland, New Zealand-based The Warehouse Limited (TWL) recently upgraded its demand chain management system by implementing the Teradata
Demand Chain Management (DCM) 3.2 solution and expanding its existing Teradata Warehouse.
A Teradata DCM customer since 2000, TWL upgraded its system to determine the optimum stock and reorder levels for the majority of products the
retailer sells—taking into account variables such as seasonality and special promotions. The application reverses the flow of information
in the traditional supply chain, pulling detailed information about product demand at the stock keeping unit level—up through the chain,
potentially back to vendors and manufacturers.
Lake Forest, Ill.-based Tenneco, a global automotive parts manufacturer, is deploying Teradata technology to build its global business-reporting
environment into a true enterprise data warehouse (EDW). Teradata is providing a data warehouse with its market-leading analytical software,
manufacturing logical data model (MLDM) and professional and customer services to Tenneco. The new system also includes data integration
software from Teradata partner IBM IIS, formerly Ascential DataStage.
As verified by current automotive clients, the Teradata MLDM expedites the planning and implementation process. Tenneco will be able to
measure progress more accurately, realizing a faster return on investment (ROI) for the EDW. "This technology provides a more detailed view of
our operations, which enhances our ability to analyze and take actions quickly," said H. William Haser, Tenneco vice president and chief
information officer.
Caixa Galicia, a leading savings bank based in La Coruna, Spain, recently joined the Teradata customer relationship management (CRM) global
user community.
Earlier this year, Caixa Galicia implemented a Teradata Warehouse and Teradata Value Analyzer, a solution used to provide insights based on
detailed profitability analysis. With the selection of the Teradata CRM portfolio, the financial services provider will better analyze and
personalize communication with its growing multi-million-sized customer base.
Teradata and Compudigm International announced that Los Angeles-based AEG, one of the top sporting, entertainment and hospitality companies in
the world, is deploying a series of visual business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse solutions from the two companies.
The technology will help AEG centralize all customer and marketing data, provide visual BI tools for more effective analysis and marketing,
and support the accelerated business growth AEG anticipates. Also, Seminole Gaming, which manages several casinos in Florida, chose the
Compudigm seePOWER solution and Teradata Warehouse to better understand customers and provide a centralized environment for information.
AEG and Seminole Gaming are both leveraging Compudigm seePOWER, an enterprise data visualization solution that presents information as
intuitive pictures of business operations. Compudigm is also delivering seePOWER Profiler and Visual Reporter to identify, segment, track,
visualize and report on customer behavior as well as corporate performance. Teradata is providing the Teradata Warehouse as the foundation
for the companies' enterprise data warehouses.
Teradata intends to spin off from NCR into a separate publicly traded company. This move will enable both Teradata and NCR, already leaders in
their respective markets, to better pursue growth by focusing on their distinct customer bases, business strategies and operational needs.
Teradata remains focused on serving customers by delivering leading enterprise data warehousing solutions and expects no significant changes
in the company's interactions with its customers and partners. The creation of its own company will enable increased investment flexibility
for product and solution innovations. For more information, visit Teradata.com/updates.

Microsoft and Teradata are now working together to optimize interoperability between Microsoft business intelligence (BI) solutions and
Teradata enterprise data warehouses to help information workers access, analyze and report on critical data more quickly, and to help
streamline the delivery of BI applications.
Now, Microsoft applications and tools can access the data in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services to bring data from the Teradata Warehouse
to information workers in the tools they use every day for fast, interactive reporting and analysis, as well as more traditional informational
reporting.
Teradata recently acquired the American Information Management Group's TRIAD Data Modeling Suite. Together with the Teradata Warehouse,
analytic applications and data models, the suite will extend Teradata's range of solutions for healthcare organizations. The features of the
TRIAD modeling suite, when coupled with the capabilities of Teradata's existing healthcare logical data model (LDM) and technology assets,
will create the most comprehensive healthcare industry LDM designed specifically for enterprise data warehouses. An LDM documents business
rules at the corporate level, supports consistent reporting and analytical results, and helps eliminate data redundancy.
