About The Presenters

Stephen Brobst, Chief Technology Officer, Teradata

Prior to joining Teradata in 1988, Stephen successfully launched three start-up companies related to high-end database products and services in the data warehousing and e-business marketplaces. He has been on the faculty of TDWI since 1996. He recently co-authored Building a Data Warehouse for Decision Support, published by Prentice Hall PTR. Brobst performed Masters and Ph.D. research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and also holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management.

James Markarian, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Informatica

James oversees the strategic direction of Informatica’s products. Prior to joining Informatica in 1998, he was architect of the Oracle Tools Division at Oracle where he was responsible for cross-product architectural planning and integration decisions. He also served on Oracle’s Architecture Review Board. James earned a B.A. in computer science and economics and an M.A. in economics from Boston University.
