Teradata Express for VMware® Player – Teradata Software for Evaluation and Development
Teradata Express is a free developer version of the Teradata Database. It provides an opportunity to work with the Teradata Database for development, testing, evaluation and learning purposes. Teradata Express for VMware® Player is a fully installed Teradata database running on the Novell SLES 10 64-bit Linux platform. These use a Linux version of the Teradata Database and may be hosted on an x64 platform running either Linux or Windows. 
This configuration includes:
- Choice of Teradata Database 12.0 or 13.0
- Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU)
- a collection of our Linux query, load & unload tools
- our new EasyLoader tool
- our new SQL Assistant Java Edition

Teradata Express for VMware Player requires the free VMware player, available at http://downloads.VMware.com/d/info/desktop_downloads/vmware_player/2_5.
Teradata Express for VMware Player comes in two database size configurations:
40 GB maximum capacity configuration requires minimum 10 GB free space for installation (Standard)
1 TB maximum capacity configuration requires minimum 60 GB free space for installation (Terabyte Edition)
During installation, the Teradata Express image will immediately allocate either 10GB or 60GB of disk space. Laptop PC users will normally download and install the Standard version since their laptop may not have 60GB of free disk space. The Terabyte Edition is better suited for server deployments.
Minimum system requirements - x64 CPU, 2 GB memory.
