Staff Report

Wednesday, August 06, 2008

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — Teradata Corp., a provider of business data warehousing, announced that Tokyo-based Isetan Mitsukoshi System Solutions Limited, which provides a central information system to Isetan Co., Ltd., has expanded its Teradata strategic information platform.

Teradata said its information platform is used by the Isetan to analyze "enormous volumes of merchandise and customer data, providing business insight and marketing intelligence for many retail business decision-makers and analysts at Isetan."

The Teradata system has been in use at Isetan for a decade, the local company said in an announcement with Isetan Tuesday Aug. 5.

"Isetan is making a strong intelligence platform even stronger," Ed Dupee, vice president, Teradata global retail industry solutions, said in the statement. "Teradata appreciates the confidence Isetan has placed in our people and our technology."

After being spun off from NCR Corp. in 2007, Teradata today has about 400 Dayton-area employees and about 5,900 employees total.
