MIAMISBURG, Ohio — How manufacturers, logistics providers and retailers are increasing economic value across their supply and demand networks is the main message that keynote speaker Keith Henry will present at
LogiCon 2008 in Las Vegas. In the keynote,
"The Data-Driven Value Chain," to be delivered on Wednesday, March 26 at 10:00 a.m., Henry will describe successful organizations that are analyzing terabytes of data and taking action for competitive advantage.
Henry is vice president for
manufacturing global industry solutions for
Teradata Corporation (NYSE:
TDC), the leader in
enterprise data warehousing. Prior to joining Teradata, Henry was the IT leader for customer business solutions, a joint venture between
Coca-Cola Enterprises and The Coca-Cola Company. He served on the Retail Industry Leaders Association while he was corporate director of business solutions for Coca-Cola Enterprises.
In addition, several experts on deriving greater financial value from data will be available during exhibit hours March 26 and 27 at Teradata booth 15.
For manufacturers to gain full financial value from their information, they must first gather data from across the enterprise into an enterprise data warehouse, and then integrate it with their enterprise resource planning program, such as
SAP NetWeaver. With this essential single understanding of their business, manufacturers can move from a supply-driven operation to a demand-driven operation.
"It is critical to integrate SAP and non-SAP enterprise data because more than half of the relevant data for running the business is outside of SAP. A small improvement in forecast accuracy can add millions of dollars to a company's top and bottom lines because a typical forecast gets one item wrong for every two it gets right," Henry said.
