The Missouri Department of Treasury, Division of Taxation, announced that during the last 14 days of March
2007, the state recovered $2.2 million from non-compliant tax filers. The recovery was due to the state's taxation data warehouse with global
enterprise data warehouse leader Teradata. Nearly $21 million has been recovered since the program began in early 2005.
Teradata Tax Solutions are based on the Teradata data warehouse in combination with professional services and programs. Teradata partnered
with The Sartell Group on this project.
Bellingham, Wash.-based Haggen Inc., a leading U.S. food and grocery retailer currently operating 32
supermarkets under the Haggen Food & Pharmacy and TOP Food & Drug banners, selected Teradata to deploy an enterprise-class data warehouse and
the ARC retail business intelligence (BI) solution from Manthan Systems to enable analytics and reporting.
The retail BI data warehouse solution has been deployed to all 32 Haggen stores across the states of Washington and Oregon. The BI data
warehouse is a joint offering from Manthan Systems and Teradata, developed exclusively for retailers, and comprises a retail-specific BI
solution and a comprehensive retail data model deployed on an enterprise data warehouse.
Publix Super Markets Inc., the largest employee-owned supermarket chain in the U.S., has expanded its
data warehouse from Teradata. This expansion will support critical analysis that will be used to improve the Lakeland, Fla.-based chain's
retail operations. The move brings the Teradata data warehouse out of the traditional decision-support realm at the $21.7 billion company and
into supporting day-to-day tactical operations decisions.
The expansion, which includes new Teradata 5500 servers running robust Teradata software and new Teradata data warehouse support technology,
enables Publix to more thoroughly understand its operations. By providing detailed historical and current information, associates can then
optimize their business decisions.
Tel Aviv-based Bank Leumi, one of Israel's top companies and a leading financial institution, has joined
the growing list of companies achieving dramatic improvements in customer relationship management using Teradata's data warehouse-driven event
triggers for event-based marketing.
Event-based marketing uses software-based rules and triggers that detect, analyze and interpret customer events, transactions and interactions.
This enables companies to provide timely and personalized attention to customers who may be in decision mode with regard to a product or
service.
Teradata has taken the next step toward becoming an independent company: Construction has started for the
new Teradata Corporation Headquarters, located at the Exchange at Spring Valley in Miami Township, Ohio. Teradata has partnered with Oberer
Builders to construct the two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility. The move from the NCR World Headquarters to the new Teradata Corporation
Headquarters is expected to occur by the end of the year.
