Optimizing SAS with Teradata

SAS and Teradata formed a strategic partnership to provide customers with a unique and differentiated value proposition that exploits the best of both vendors' core strengths in data warehousing and analytical BI solutions, and built a roadmap for enhanced and deeper technical integration and a joint consulting team to promote best practices and optimization of SAS and Teradata technologies.

Technical Integration Roadmap

This strategic partnership focuses on creating the ability to run and optimize key SAS analytic processes within the Teradata warehouse engine — leveraging SAS analytic functions to utilize and exploit the core parallel processing inherent to the Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) architecture. This delivers efficient use of overall resources across the end-to-end analytic, BI and warehousing environment. The result will be higher performance run-times, reduced data-movement overhead and faster analytical development and processing. It also enables subject matter experts to be more productive and focus on business issues rather than the mechanics of how the data access and analytic tasks are executed.
