Hazardous Substances
Teradata also complies with the European Union directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), which limits the use of certain substances, such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in electrical and electronic equipment placed on the European Community market. Prior to the effective date of the EU RoHS Directive, Teradata implemented comprehensive due diligence, order control, and parts management processes to ensure initial compliance, and we continue to do so in order to assure ongoing compliance. As a result, Teradata is fully compliant with the EU RoHS Directive and similar legislation in other parts of the world, such as similar regulations applicable in China and California.
