Williams-Sonoma, Inc. markets high quality specialty home products under six distinct merchandise entities: Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen, West Elm and Williams-Sonoma Home. This merchandising network incorporates 584 stores, seven mail-order catalogs and six e-commerce web sites.
Williams-Sonoma implemented an Enterprise Data Warehouse from Teradata to provide a single data source and business intelligence platform. This solution was designed to grow easily and inexpensively as user demand, data volume and query complexity increase by making use of market-leading Teradata analytical software. "Our goal is to gain a strategic, accurate and consolidated view of our business by efficiently combining our merchandise and customer data in one enterprise platform, using the Teradata warehouse as the single source of information," said John Strain, chief information officer for Williams-Sonoma, Inc.
