Lan Chile
Lan Chile, one of the top three airlines in Latin America, needed a system that provided good performance under the stress of multiple users making heavy, penetrating demands of the data, with the ability to grow with the airline without causing undue fiscal or analytical burden. After benchmarking several leading solutions, Lan Chile chose Teradata. The Teradata system ran 10 times faster than the legacy system, and enabled the airline to not only see reservations for flights up to a year in advance, but also store two years of historic reservation information.
"Our first priority with Teradata was revenue generation. Now we are adding CRM (Customer Relationship Management)," explains Sergio Mendoza, Lan Chile's Vice President of Distribution and Revenue Management. "Lan Chile and Teradata's relationship has been a very good one, and we expect it to last for a very long time."
