Allied Irish Bank

Allied Irish Bank (AIB) provides a broad range of banking services to customers in Ireland, the UK, Poland and the United States.

AIB chose to implement an Enterprise Data Warehouse from Teradata primarily because of Teradata's flexibility to quickly and easily deliver business solutions, including direct business user ad-hoc access. Teradata also provided the most consistent performance to business users without the need for IT to implement a large number of indexes to support all potential ad-hoc query combinations.

Today approximately 100 users access AIB's Enterprise Data Warehouse from Teradata daily via client-server architecture. Their Customer Relationship Management (CRM) area accesses customer data to support initiatives. Their financial control department has access to consistent financial data across departments as well as quick access to detailed data behind the summary figures.
