Polkomtel S.A., founded in 1996, already provides more than 10 million customers with mobile telephony, boasting a 33% market share in its native Poland.

In 2004 Polkomtel migrated to Teradata to provide better scalability, fresher data and common access to users for making ad-hoc queries, all while keeping the business growing. The system allows Polkomtel to more effectively access and analyze its historical data, calculate customer lifetime value (LTV) and perform revenue assurance.

"As the business side is better able to access all of the data and drill down into it, they also develop a better understanding of what needs exist to add information," says Jaroslaw Bartosik, Polkomtel's Data Analysis and Decision Support Team Manager. "The result is that we are all talking much more precisely about the future, about what we need to add and what we want to achieve."
