Airlines Reporting Corporation
Airlines Reporting Corporation is a carrier-owned service bureau that provides financial settlement solutions and data and analytical services to the travel industry. The company processes 190,000,000 tickets worth more than $70 billion every year. ARC realized that only an Enterprise Data Warehouse could provide the technical infrastructure necessary to address its business objectives.
ARC had three main objectives for creating a data warehouse: paper reduction to reduce costs and improve accuracy, fraud reduction to save money for its customers, and business improvements to enhance current methodology and increase revenue. With its Teradata Data Warehouse and a recent expansion with a Teradata Dual Active Solution, ARC has met all three objectives with outstanding results — including reduced operating costs, improved ROI and enhanced disaster recovery capabilities.

It was a marriage prompted by necessity: Computers and electronic data are, after all, far younger than airplanes or, for that matter, the travel agency industry-which was already a billion-dollar business 40 years ago, when air travel was a far smaller market and the dollar a far larger unit.
