Federal Express
Federal Express (FedEx) is used to moving things quickly, but when it came to data, the company's original data warehouse just couldn't keep up. It lacked scalability and couldn't handle FedEx's ongoing growth, acquisition and organizational changes.
"We required a data warehousing provider that would enable us to transform the immense amount of data generated every day into valuable business information," explains Mark Cooper, Technical Fellow, FedEx Services.
FedEx turned to Teradata, which developed an integrated set of business solutions and a single point of access to express, ground, logistics, and supply-chain analytics solutions. The Teradata Warehouse also supports online package tracking, processes shipping information from more than four million packages daily and shares information among all of FedEx's customer contact points.
