Ukrop's Super Markets are refreshingly down to earth in an age of mega superstore chains. With more than 29 stores in central Virginia, this family-owned business still adheres to founder Joe Ukrop's guiding principles of providing good products, outstanding value and friendly, helpful service.

Ukrop's move to an Enterprise Data Warehouse from Teradata stemmed from a growing list of business and IT needs that were not being met. Unlinked data sources — comprised of an overloaded Informix database, distributed data marts and linked spreadsheets — were at the root of the problem. A well-organized discovery phase of users' needs, evaluating products and gathering references all played a part in Teradata winning the business. Today Ukrop's effectively uses their technology to give managers the information they need to make informed, timely decisions.
