Chi Mei Optoelectronics

Chi Mei Optoelectronics, a Taiwan-based Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT-LCD) manufacturer and the world's leading supplier of large LCD television panels, has chosen Teradata as its enterprise data warehousing platform. Chi Mei is also the first company in Taiwan to adopt the Teradata Manufacturing Logical Data Model (MLDM).

Chi Mei believes Teradata's unique, massively parallel processing technology can integrate each of its manufacturing plants' independent Manufacturing Execution Systems data, the company's enterprise resource planning system, and various front-end transaction systems to significantly improve data quality. The enterprise data warehouse also will reduce maintenance costs and improve the bottom line. The initial phase of this project will focus on implementation, including design and planning of the data warehouse, data integration, loading, transformation and extraction.
