Lufthansa

German airline Lufthansa has increased the capacity of its Teradata Warehouse from 14TB to more than 21TB in an effort to provide the scalability needed to support the vast amounts of data it collects from its various divisions.

The expansion of its Teradata Warehouse enhances the company's CORONA platform, used for analysis and decision support applications companywide—including regular customer data, feedback evaluations, and flight movement data from reservations, check-in, and the Miles & More frequent flyer program.

Because the Teradata Warehouse is highly scalable, Lufthansa will realize significant cost advantages through savings in software, hardware and personnel that would otherwise be associated with a data migration. Teradata will also provide professional services as part of the expansion, including service and support of applications and interfaces.
