The key concept introduced in this white paper is that by using Teradata Active System Management users can:
Analyze query level information collected over a specified period of time using the Database Query Log and recommend a set of new workloads (including recommendations on the classification criteria, the SLGs for each workload period, Workload to AG mapping).
- Analyze an existing workload set and give recommendations on changes to the workload definition rules by analyzing the response time patterns collected over a period of time.
- Convert existing Teradata Database V2R5 PSF settings to
Teradata Database V2R6 Teradata ASM workload definitions, and save them into workload configuration tables.
- Regulate workloads by monitoring and managing system resources against workload expectations (SLGs).
- Monitor and Report on workload performance.
