NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), announced today that it has completed the SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW) 3.5 Universal Data Connect (UDC) certification, receiving "Certified for SAP NetWeaver™" status for the integration of its Teradata Driver for the JDBC Interface 3.2.
The certification is part of the continued dedication of the Teradata and SAP alliance to provide customer-driven solutions. It provides SAP users the ability to use standard SAP Business Intelligence (BI) facilities and components to transparently access remote data stored in the Teradata® Warehouse. Queries through UDC are transformed into Teradata queries, and all of the power of Teradata is brought to bear on finding answers to multiple queries simultaneously.
"For business users struggling to perform analysis across multiple data sources, the SAP-Teradata connector provides relief. We recommend that companies using SAP solutions seriously consider the BW/Teradata combination as part of an overall enterprise data warehousing strategy," wrote AMR Research analyst J. Paul Kirby in an alert published Oct. 20, 2004.
