Partnership accelerates enterprise analytics

Successful global companies know that speed to market of analytic applications is an increasingly decisive competitive advantage. Businesses that are able to develop, deploy and act upon advanced analytics faster than their competitors are often better prepared to adapt to changes in the economy, customer demands and competitive threats. That's why Teradata and Fair Isaac recently formed a strategic global partnership that will accelerate the development and deployment of decision management applications across the enterprise.

Fair Isaac, a provider of analytics and decision technology, helps thousands of companies in more than 60 countries acquire customers more effectively. A new alliance, which will integrate components of Fair Isaac's Enterprise Decision Manager with Teradata Warehouse solutions, will help businesses make near real-time decisions using predictive analytics based on current events and historical data.

"Every day, more companies are realizing that there is tremendous hidden value in their historical customer data, but extracting valuable, actionable information from this vast amount of data across product silos continues to be a significant challenge for most organizations," explains Gresh Brebach, vice president of corporate development for Fair Isaac. "Unlocking that value is what this partnership is all about."

As part of the alliance agreement, Teradata, the pioneer of in-database data mining, and Fair Isaac will leverage the Teradata Analytic Data Set Generator for the data exploration and pre-processing steps in the data mining process—which can account for up to 75% of the effort in building new models and analytics. "Integrating and optimizing Fair Isaac's analytics and Teradata's enterprise data warehousing technologies into a robust infrastructure allows us to bring high-value, custom analytic decision management applications to market faster and easier," Brebach says.

"This partnership meets the needs of our common customers," says Arlene Zaima, Teradata Data Mining Program manager. "It responds to their desire for a joint, integrated and optimized Teradata-Fair Isaac analytics solution. It's a natural partnership between two players with very complementary products."

Teradata and Fair Isaac will initially leverage their joint industry expertise to target the financial industry with fraud and risk management solutions. Through future joint product development and integration efforts, Fair Isaac plans to bring a range of new analytic applications to market. "There's a huge amount of excitement on the part of Fair Isaac," says Brebach. "Through this partnership, businesses can finally achieve the long-sought benefits of truly effective enterprise decision management."

The Teradata-Fair Isaac global strategy partnership is aimed at helping organizations transform their traditional analytic processing and reporting solutions to advanced predictive analytics and intelligent automated decisioning that will improve revenue growth, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction. Zaima adds, "Teradata is very excited about this partnership. We think this is going to be a huge win for our customers." T
