Teradata Sales & Inventory Analysis

Teradata Sales & Inventory Analysis is the foundation of Teradata's Retail Decisions suite of Assortment Analysis applications. It helps optimize product assortment management, and assists in the daily analysis, tracking, monitoring and management of current in-season product assortments.

Sales & Inventory Analysis makes sales trending, contribution ranking and year-to-year comparisons within category and markdown management readily available. This information helps the retailer -

  • View sales trends at the item subclass, class, department and location level
  • Compare sales histories at the product and store level
  • Rank top and bottom sellers by category and time frame
  • Analyze sell-thru
  • Identify potential under stocks, out of stocks, and the cost of missed sales

Retailers can make critical decisions using the information learned through Sales & Inventory Analysis. They can -

  • Reduce or prevent an overstock or understock situation by comparing how much of an item has been sold with how much is available. Product sales can be reviewed across a seasonal or promotional time frame.
  • Improve merchandise planning and determine if there is room for additional markdowns at the product's class level.
  • Delete under-performing products by store or region by looking at actual sales by store and comparing it to the plan.
