Demand for Detailed Customer Intelligence and Multi-Channel Dialog Drives Market Momentum for Teradata Relationship Manager - 10/21/2009
Electronic Arts is the latest to select TRM as new enhancements provide businesses more power to address rapidly changing consumer demands and market requirements
WASHINGTON — Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the world’s largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, announced today enhancements to its industry leading CRM application, Teradata Relationship Manager (TRM).
This is a key moment for TRM as the portfolio gains momentum across industries and the worldwide market. Teradata understands that companies today require more sophisticated capabilities to meet increasingly complex demands, and deliver more timely and relevant messages across an exploding array of new devices, user groups, channels and technologies.
For the first time, advanced capabilities that once required multiple software modules or applications have been integrated into one powerful user interface. TRM blends contact optimization, offer optimization, distributed user capability and sophisticated lead simulation into a single package.
The new enhancements enable marketers to create and customize procedures that help casual, non-marketing and external users to leverage needed capabilities and contribute to the marketing process. For example, by completing a simple online form, branch managers and insurance agents can, with one click, create and execute precisely targeted promotional campaigns for their specific customers. TRM automatically executes sophisticated marketing processes like control groups, personalization, and contact optimization to ensure corporate governance with maximum effectiveness and measurability.
One of the latest customers to choose TRM is Electronic Arts, Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), a leading global interactive entertainment software company.
“We were impressed with TRM’s functionality and ability to handle a large and diverse customer base. We foresee significant marketing benefits from deploying TRM,” said Dennis Self, chief information officer, Electronic Arts (EA).
“Organizations that have made an investment in Teradata for cross channel campaign management report returns in the millions of dollars – far beyond the initial investment,” said Miles Stephenson, vice president of solutions and alliances marketing, Teradata.
Teradata’s TRM tools for campaign management support EA’s goals to create, nurture, and sustain consumer relationships while leveraging data analytics to maximize monetization opportunities throughout the consumer lifecycle and channel. EA will use TRM to increase speed and information accuracy for the execution of:
- Consumer marketing efforts through multiple channels
- The expansion of lifecycle contact strategies
- Email response rates and opt-in rates, growing consumer data acquisition
- Increases in consumer insight, which can be shared with business partners
- Advanced modeling development to influence segmentation and contact strategies
- Generate additional direct revenue
TRM’s momentum continues across industries, with deployments at companies including Ace Hardware, CVS stores, Philly Park Casino, Sabre, Sheetz, Travelocity and United Rentals in the Americas – plus top marketing programs across the world at ABN Amro Bank, Allied Irish Bank, COOP Denmark, Etisalat (Middle East), Maybank (Malaysia), METRO AG (a leading global retailer based in Germany), Mizuho Bank (Japan), Pannon (Hungary), Standard Charter First Bank (Korea), and Telefonica (Chile).
Maybank, the largest financial services organization in Malaysia, recently received a 2009 Financial Insights Innovation Award for its analytical customer relationship management system, which runs on Teradata with TRM.
“The analytical performance and quick returns on TRM are not the only reason companies choose Teradata over other options,” Stephenson said. “TRM is a known powerhouse for multi-channel customer management. Companies today use the web as a mainstream channel for engaging customers – along with mobile and other ‘now’ channels. As consumer options multiply and relationships become much more dynamic, marketers need to become masters at multi-channel customer engagement and at exploiting what they know about their customers – from all points of interaction. They do this by ensuring that whenever and wherever a customer interacts with the business, that each one is recognized as an individual with specific, relevant needs and interests.”
New requirements add to the sophistication of customer experience management, yet the extreme scalability of the Teradata database platform along with TRM provides a huge competitive advantage to users over other options. The Teradata database is ranked the best in the world and provides the kind of high-volume, detailed customer intelligence in real time that other CRM vendors cannot deliver, despite their assertions, Stephenson added.
TRM has been recognized as a leading customer management solution by analysts and the Teradata global customer community for more than a decade. Most recently Teradata Relationship Manager was positioned in the Leaders Quadrant in Gartner’s report, “Magic Quadrant for CRM Multichannel Campaign Management (MCCM)” by Adam Sarner. “The new enhancements to TRM, available in November, will further differentiate Teradata in the field of multi-channel campaign management,” Stephenson said.
