WASHINGTONTeradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), the world’s largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, today announced that JCB, Japan’s comprehensive payment solutions provider with more than 60 million cardholders, upgraded its J-MARK business intelligence information system with the selection of the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse platform (Teradata Active EDW).

“JCB is accelerating the growth of its comprehensive payment solutions business beyond credit cards. To this end, we pushed forward a company-wide project enhancing our system infrastructure. Last November, JCB put into production a full-upgrade of J-MARK with the Teradata Active EDW platform. We upgraded and expanded the system in June,” said Takuji Higuchi, executive vice president, Operation System Development Department, JCB. “JCB conducted a rigorous review of data warehouse vendors to determine which could best meet our information management needs. We selected Teradata technology based on high system availability, excellent processing speed and the solid record of deployments in the financial services industry. The flexible architecture of the Teradata Active EDW platform made it easy and quick to deploy. The platform offers an environment for the analyses of large volumes of data with the ability to grow as data volumes grow.”

The J-MARK system, running on the Teradata Active EDW, now enables the company to integrate and update its data on a daily basis in a centralized data warehouse. The analyses of this data offer insight into customers’ needs and statistical information on the success of business activities, which is the foundation for the development and execution of marketing campaigns. The Teradata Active EDW has enabled the company to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Teradata is the only vendor to offer a broad family of platforms that span the unique business and analytical data warehouse needs of a company, making Teradata suitable everywhere in the enterprise. The Teradata Purpose-Built Platform Family includes the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse, the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance, the Teradata Extreme Data Appliance, the Teradata Data Mart Appliance, and the Teradata Software Only Edition.
