Environmental Industry Involvement
EPA Climate Leaders Program
Teradata is proud to be a member of the EPA Climate Leaders program, which is designed to help companies lessen their impact on the global environment. Through this program Teradata has committed to:
Develop a corporate-wide inventory of the six major greenhouse gases (GHGs) and report progress annually based on detailed EPA protocols and guidance
Develop a corporate GHG Inventory Management Plan based on a detailed EPA checklist to institutionalize the inventory process
Set an aggressive corporate-wide GHG emissions reduction goal to be achieved over the next 5 to 10 years
We are focused on committing to a Carbon Footprint reduction that is aggressive for our industry. To that end, we will be preparing an Inventory Management Plan (IMP) for our U.S. facilities to aid in developing earth-friendly practices, and we look forward to reporting on our sustainable policies and procedures program, including our plans for our international facilities in 2009.
FTSE4Good Index
Teradata is also a member in good standing of FTSE4Good Index, an independent company jointly owned by The Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange and whose indices for social responsibility are relied upon extensively by a range of investors, consultants, asset owners, fund managers, investment banks, stock exchanges and brokers.
FSTE4Good Index covers five markets: UK, Europe, Japan, U.S. and Global. Four tradable and five benchmark indices make up the FTSE4Good index series. A committee of independent practitioners in socially responsible investment and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reviews the indices to ensure that they are an accurate reflection of current CSR best practice.

ASHRAE
We are a committee member of the Technical Committee of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). ASHRAE is recognized across the data-com industry as the unbiased engineering leader in HVAC and an effective provider of technical information.
Information Technology Industry Council
INCITS is the primary U.S. focus of standardization in the field of Information and Communications Technologies, encompassing storage, processing, transfer, display, management, organization and retrieval of information. INCITS also serves as ANSI's Technical Advisory Group for ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee, which is responsible for international standardization in the field of information technology.
Teradata considers Information Technology Industry Council membership essential to our EMI compliance program and potentially to the product safety and environment aspects of Teradata hardware products.
Carbon Disclosure Project
Teradata is a responding company to the Carbon Disclosure Project, an organization that works with shareholders and corporations to disclose the greenhouse gas emissions of major corporations.
