As chief development officer for Teradata, Scott Gnau is responsible for all research, development and sales support activities related to Teradata warehouse solutions. His organization includes more than 1,000 employees in San Diego, Los Angeles, Raleigh, Toronto and other locations throughout the world.
Previously, Gnau was vice president of product strategy and portfolio management for Teradata, with the task of driving Teradata's continued investments in technology. Gnau and his team worked with customers, prospects, industry analysts and academia to understand the market and continue refinement of Teradata's technology vision to meet the unique needs of the world's leading active data warehouse customers.
Gnau has spent his career delivering enterprise analytics solutions to top global companies. Working in Teradata's Professional Services business, Scott and his teams drove the successful delivery of enterprise analytics solutions for North America's largest retailers. Under his leadership from 1999 to 2001, Teradata Professional Services experienced three years of revenue growth with a compounded annual growth rate of more than 25 percent while also building improved customer trust and approval.
Prior to joining Teradata in 1995, Gnau owned his own company, Data Integration and Architecture. In 1989, Gnau oversaw the development of the company's first customer relationship management analytical solution.
Gnau earned a bachelor's in electrical engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a specialization in computer engineering and design. He and his wife reside in the San Diego area where they actively support animal rescue organizations.
