Darryl McDonald is chief marketing officer for Teradata. He is responsible for providing strategic direction for Teradata products, solutions and services and presenting the Teradata brand worldwide to ensure its continued leadership in enterprise data warehousing. In addition, he oversees a number of operational units including Education and Alliances. In his current role, McDonald is a member of the Teradata leadership team reporting to Mike Koehler, president and chief executive officer of Teradata.
McDonald has more than 25 years of experience in sales, consulting, marketing and senior management in the high-tech sector. Known as a dynamic leader who is committed to delivering innovation, McDonald has deep industry and business expertise as well as a broad knowledge of the global marketplace.
Previously, McDonald was vice president of global consulting services for Teradata, where he had overall responsibility for the global delivery of professional services and established an industry-leading team responsible for the innovation and development of consulting capabilities and service offerings. Under his guidance, Teradata launched its Global Consulting Centers around the world and achieved double-digit growth in consulting services revenues each year.
Prior to leading Teradata's consulting efforts, he was vice president of the retail industry for the Americas and led a team of sales and professional services associates. During his tenure, the retail industry grew market share, revenue and profit.
McDonald earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business administration from the University of Georgia and serves on the university's Board of Advisors for the Terry School of Business. Active in community circles, he is a member of the "Distinguished Clown Corp," which raises money each year for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization designed to give kids a second chance at life. He resides with his wife and son in the Atlanta area.
