    Teradata 14 Certified Professional Program exam tracks  

    The Teradata Certified Professional Program (TCPP) Team is excited to announce the release of the Teradata Database Certification Track.

    What’s New about the Teradata Database Certification Track 

    1. The Teradata Database Certification Track enables career track progression and includes 1 foundational certification and 6 job role certifications.
    2. Recommended Teradata Database web-based training is free for the Associate Exam.
    3. Provisional exam results will be issued at the test center.
    4. Digital badges are awarded to all certification holders to use and share on social networking sites to communicate the achievement.
    5. All certifications have a 5-year expiration date.
    6. Candidates maintain their certification by either passing the same exam OR an advanced certification exam for the same job role prior to the expiration date of the certification. Earning an advanced certification extends the expiration date of all other Teradata Certifications associated with that job role.
    7. Transition options have been added for all Teradata 14 certified individuals allowing certain exams to be waived.

    Transition Options for Teradata 14 Certification Candidates

    Candidates that hold Teradata 14 Certifications have the option to transition to the Database track with exam waiver(s) as outlined:

    Waivers are granted automatically when registering for an exam with our exam delivery partner Pearson VUE.

    NOTE:  If you completed all your Teradata 14 exams with our prior exam delivery vendor, Prometric, your waiver will not be automatic.  Please email TCPP to obtain a waiver prior to exam registration.

     
     
     
     

    Teradata Database Certified Associate –
    Registration opens October 5, 2017 with testing beginning October 12, 2017

    A successful candidate has knowledge of the core concepts of Teradata Database. The candidate understands relational database concepts, the major components, core features and functionality, security and privacy, and Teradata’s data distribution and data access methods including a basic understanding of Teradata Tools and Utilities. The candidate understands at a conceptual level how Teradata provides value (use cases).

    Required Exam

     

    Teradata Database Certified DBA – Available in 2018

    A successful candidate has core knowledge and skills necessary to; manage archives, plan capacity requirements, identify optimal database and table design including indexing options, use database tools and utilities, manage performance and usage data, produce security auditing reports, monitor and manage database space, administer users, manage system logging options, manage database privileges, and identify relevant workload management components.

    Transition Option from Teradata 14

    Candidate must hold any Teradata 14 Certification.

    • DBA Exam
     

    Teradata Database Certified Advanced DBA – Available in 2018

    A successful candidate has knowledge and skills necessary to; identify optimal archive and restore strategies, analyze system resource trends to plan for future requirements, identify optimal database and table design, translate logical data model to physical data model, administer and setup Viewpoint, identify and use collected data to isolate and resolve performance issues, identify the benefits of advanced security configurations, use the advanced space management features, create user definitions to meet advanced data access requirements, troubleshoot performance and system issues, design and implement workload management.

    Transition Option from Teradata 14

    Candidates that hold a Teradata 14 Certified Professional, Teradata 14 Technical Specialist, Teradata Solutions Developer, or Teradata 14 Enterprise Architect Certification must pass in order:

    • DBA Exam
    • Advanced DBA Exam

    Candidates that hold a Teradata 14 Database Administrator or Teradata 14 Master Certification:

    • Advanced DBA Exam

    Teradata Database Certified Developer – In Development

    A successful candidate has the knowledge and skills necessary to design and write optimized SQL that acquires, integrates and accesses data in Teradata environments. They have knowledge of database design concepts and indexing strategies for query and ETL development. Successful candidates can effectively use the Teradata database features, tools and utilities.

    Candidates that hold a Teradata 14 Certified Technical Specialist Certification

    • Developer Exam
     

    Teradata Database Certified Advanced Developer – In Development

    A successful candidate has the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to design and write optimized applications that acquire, integrate and access data in Teradata environments. They have an in-depth knowledge of database design concepts and advanced indexing strategies for query and ETL application development. Successful candidates are able to make effective choices using available Teradata capabilities, tools, and utilities.

    Candidates that hold a Teradata 14 Certified Professional Certification must pass in order:

    • Developer Exam
    • Advanced Developer Exam

    Candidates that hold a Teradata 14 Technical Specialist, Teradata 14 Database Administrator, Teradata 14 Solutions Developer, Teradata 14 Enterprise Architect or Teradata 14 Master Certification:

    • Advanced Developer Exam

    Teradata Database Certified System Architect – In Development

    A successful candidate has knowledge and skills necessary to architect analytic ecosystem solutions with rigor centered around the Teradata Database environment. This includes information management and data governance, performance design and optimization, data integration, data security, system protection, data residency and portability, information delivery, and workload management.

    Candidate must hold any Teradata 14 Certification.

    • System Architect Exam

    Teradata Database Certified Master

    There is no Master Exam. The Teradata Database Master Certification is awarded after successful completion of the required exams.
