Teradata customers, partners, consultants and associates who design, administer, support or write applications using Teradata database technology or Teradata Aster technology are candidates for the Teradata Certified Professional Program.
Currently we offer the following exams for the Teradata Certification Track:
In addition we offer the following exam for the Teradata Aster Certification Track:
Re-certification on a specific release of Teradata software will not be mandated by TCPP. All Teradata certifications awarded will remain valid and will not expire. The market may dictate that certification on a previous release of Teradata is no longer meaningful and certifications will no longer be supported by TCPP. Candidates have the option to achieve updated certifications based on a newer release of Teradata.
Teradata requires your review and acceptance of the “Teradata Certified Professional Program Candidate Agreement” or “TCPP Candidate Agreement” (which conforms to IT industry standards) each time you take a certification exam at an authorized Pearson VUE Testing Center. The agreement contains non-disclosure obligations, trademark license rights, termination rights, disclaimers of warranties and limitations of liability, and privacy clauses. It is recommended that you download the Teradata Candidate Agreement and review it carefully before your exam appointment.
Your certification credentials will be available electronically only and can be downloaded after completing the prescribed criteria for achieving a Teradata Certification. You will receive an e-mail notification stating that you may download your personalized certificate, camera ready logo artwork, and Logo Usage Guidelines from the Teradata Certification Tracking System. A printed certificate will not be delivered to your mailing address. In addition, you will receive an email from Acclaim to claim your digital badge.
Teradata Certified Masters will receive a printed Teradata Certification Welcome Kit after they confirm their mailing address in the Tracking System. The kit will contain a personalized certificate, a laminated wallet sized certificate, camera ready logo artwork, Logo Usage Guidelines.
The TCPP Logo Usage Guidelines and logos can be downloaded from the Teradata Certification Tracking System. As stated in the TCPP Candidate Agreement, you are required to adhere to the guidelines at all times and protect the logo you have earned from un-authorized use. Digital badges can be used on many social media forums, in email signatures, and electronic resumes. Be sure to include the metadata (url) when using a digital badge.
Teradata certified individuals have access to their exam records and certifications in the Teradata Certification Tracking System. Access the Tracking System to create a transcript of exams and certifications for third party verification. Go to the Results & Cert History page for additional information.
Digital badges can also be used for credential verification with one simple click.
All Teradata certification levels achieved in any certification track will remain valued, valid and will not expire, similar to a diploma. However, due to Teradata technology advances and changes credentials may become outdated and obsolete. At that time, TCPP will no longer support certifications from the track that has become obsolete.
Effective July 15, 2013, V2R3 Certifications are no longer supported.
Certifications do not expire so you can set up a transcript in the Teradata Certification Tracking System to prove you have earned that certification. However the exam title on the completed transcript will indicate that the Certification is no longer supported. Once your Certification is no longer supported you will not have access to the following:
To avoid re-take violations, follow Teradata 14 Exam re-take policies for the six core exams TE0-141 through TE0-146 and for the two restricted access exams: Teradata 14 Bridge from Teradata 12 Exam TE0-14B and the Mastery Exam TE0-147 as outlined here:
You will have to schedule and pay for any exam that you may need to retake.
Exams are developed according to certification industry standards to measure your knowledge and skill level in the subject area. Hands-on experience, supporting education, training methods and the certification level you choose are factors in determining how much study and preparation will be required before you take each exam. The highest level certification, Teradata Certified Master, may take up to 36 months to complete. This is only an average time frame and you may need more or less time. TCPP does not mandate a specific time frame that you must complete a certification level.
Exams and certification levels in the Teradata 14 Certification Track are based on Teradata software release Teradata Database 13.0, Teradata Database 13.1, and Teradata Database 14.0 (including SLES 11).
The Teradata Aster Basics Exam and Certification Track are based on the features and functionality of Teradata Aster 6.10.
There are seven exams on the Teradata 14 track that can be combined for achievement of six certification levels. There are 2 different paths, the Traditional Path and the Upgrade Path; a candidate can take to achieve Teradata 14 Certifications.
Upgrade Path (see below for eligibility requirements)
There is one exam on the Teradata Aster track that results in one certification earned.
Candidates in good standing, that currently hold any of the following Teradata 12 Certification(s) are eligible to take the Teradata 14 Bridge from Teradata 12 exam (TE0-14B):
For the Teradata 14 track, exams are sequenced. For example:
Candidates eligible to take the Teradata 14 Upgrade Path must first complete the Teradata 14 Bridge from Teradata 12 exam (TE0-14B) before taking any Job Role exams (TE0-144, TE0-145, TE0-146 or TE0-147).
You will not be allowed to transfer or "mix" exams and certification levels among different tracks. You must pass exams specific to the current track to achieve certification in that track.
Example: If you passed the Teradata Basics and Teradata SQL exams in the Teradata 12 track, you cannot transfer those exams and certifications to the Teradata 14 track. You will need to pass the Teradata 14 Basics and the Teradata 14 SQL exams before taking the Teradata 14 Physical Design and Implementation exam. You will then achieve the Teradata 14 Certified Technical Specialist certification.
Teradata 12 Masters may upgrade to Teradata 14 Masters Certification by taking one exam: Teradata 14 Comprehensive Mastery Exam (TE0-147).
All other candidates must begin the Teradata 14 track with the Basics exam.
All individuals who have earned the Teradata 12 Master Certification gain eligibility for Teradata 14 Master status by passing the Teradata 14 Comprehensive Mastery exam.
Previous exams, based on Teradata V2R3, were retired on June 30, 2004. Effective July 15, 2013, V2R3 Certifications are no longer supported.
