He and his team work with customers, alliance partners, industry analysts, and academic researchers to understand the market and refine Teradata's technology vision. Gnau is an accomplished and popular speaker on using data and analytics to create competitive advantage. He has devoted his career to understanding customers’ needs and delivering enterprise analytic solutions. Working in Teradata's Professional Services business, Gnau and his teams drove the successful delivery of enterprise analytics solutions for North America's retailers. Under his leadership, Teradata Professional Services experienced three years of double digit revenue growth, while building improved customer trust and satisfaction.
Prior to joining Teradata in 1995, Gnau owned his own company, focused on data integration and architecture consulting.
Gnau earned a bachelor's in electrical engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a specialization in computer engineering and design. He and his wife live in the San Diego area, where they actively support animal rescue organizations. In his spare time, he also enjoys flying and collecting antique fountain pens.
