Darryl D. McDonald
Chief Strategy Officer for Teradata Corporation
Darryl McDonald is Chief Strategy Officer for Teradata Corporation, with more than thirty years of experience in helping companies accelerate growth and innovation with data and analytics. McDonald reports to Steve Scheppman, CFO, and is responsible for corporate strategy, the strategic planning process, and mergers and acquisitions. Darryl works closely with Teradata divisions on alignment with corporate strategic priorities and explores opportunities for synergy between the divisions.
In his previous role as President, Applications, he led Teradata’s Applications business. Teradata’s marketing applications portfolio includes solutions for Marketing Operations, Campaign Management, Digital Messaging and related services.
McDonald has also served as Teradata EVP of Business Development and CMO, McDonald was instrumental in expanding the Teradata brand and growing the business, while also spearheading strategic acquisitions. An avid ambassador of customer-centric marketing, McDonald was selected by ExecRank as a top ten marketing executive and was named among the “Top 100 Chief Marketing Officers around the world who truly ‘get it’ when it comes to social media” by Social Media Marketing Magazine.
Prior to his role as CMO, McDonald launched and led Teradata’s global consulting services division, achieving double-digit growth each year. He also led the Americas retail industry sales division, growing market share, revenue, and profit.
McDonald holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Georgia and serves on the university's Board of Advisors for the Terry School of Business. Active in his local community, McDonald is a member of the "Distinguished Clown Corp," a philanthropic organization that benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta pediatric hospital. He and his wife Terri live near Atlanta, Georgia.
