8:30 - 9:30am  The Fourth Dimension of Analytics
Analytic discovery is entering a new realm of possibilities enabled by Big Data technologies. In this workshop we will extrapolate ideas from Jim Gray’s Fourth Paradigm framework into the world of commercial analytics and data warehousing. The possibilities enabled by sensor data and the challenges related to data curation will be discussed in detail. Emerging architectures for organizing data to support both productization and exploration will be described in the context of a unified data architecture including commercial technologies, open source technologies, and cloud deployment.

• Learn about the four dimensions of analytic discovery.
• Learn about the critical success factors for data intensive analytics.
• Learn about the evolution from monolithic platforms to analytic ecosystems using combinations of open source and commercial technologies.

Speaker: Stephen Brobst (Chief Technology Officer, Teradata)

9:30 - 9:45am Break

9:45 - 10:30am Data & Analytic Centricity - Accelerating Outcome By Being Data Driven
Teradata has always believed it is important to take a Data & Analytic centric approach, where the data is managed so that business can ask “any question, against any data, at any time.” With the explosion in data volumes and new data types, as well as new analytic capabilities this centricity is more important than ever. These trends make it increasingly difficult to “connect the dots” at the same time businesses are challenged to leverage technology to act faster with less cost. Data still must be managed, but it is how it is managed that is important - not all data needs the same integration and governance. Learn how Teradata’s experience is being applied to this new challenge and how the Unified Data Architecture provides you a framework for success.

Speaker: Rob Armstrong (Data & Analytic Enthusiast, Teradata)

10:30 - 10:45am Break

10:45 - 11:30am Teradata Listener & A Streaming Analytics Solution with the Teradata UDA

We constantly work to make the Teradata Database a stronger component of your analytic ecosystem, though there is only so much we can do alone, sometimes you have to put in some effort to leverage all that we have enabled. In this session we will highlight key features where we have optimized performance such as PRPD, Intelligent memory, TVS, and others. We will also explore new capabilities such as QueryGrid and JSON that you can leverage for greater insights. Come learn how we are making your business faster, and how you can make your business smarter.

Speaker: Rob Armstrong (Data & Analytic Enthusiast, Teradata)

2:00 - 2:45pm  Comprehensive Business Insights
Companies, across all verticals, are now confronted with myriad challenges. From customer churn, to fraud related losses, to optimizing channel investment, and everything else in between, the imperative to successfully address business challenges with a hard-nosed data driven approach is more critical than ever before. Recent analyst reports from Gartner, Forrester, and IDC, and others all underscore how important it is to develop and sustain an in-house analytics capability so that critical business questions can be answered as well as being able to successfully create a continued competitive edge in the market place. However, with the proliferation of a variety of data types (structured, unstructured, semi-structured), incredible volumes of data generated, and with the need to intelligently apply combinations of analytics techniques across many genres (e.g., Text, Graph, Path, Statistics), doing analytics is not as easy as it could be. In this session, we show how doing Advanced Analytics can be fun and how you do not have to have a deep investment in technical skills to benefit from it. We present to you Teradata Aster Analytics (the multi genre advanced analytics solution), demonstrate its various capabilities, show how critical use cases are addressed, and provide some resources that can allow you to quickly get started on your own analytics journey.

Speaker: Sri Raghavan (Senior Product Marketing Manager, Teradata)
