Teradata EPIC Awards Given to Recognize Excellence in Use of Data Analytics to Return Equity to Organizations
Celebrating the leadership, innovation and excellence of Teradata customers and partners
On Monday night, Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the leading analytic data solutions company, honored global customers and partners with Teradata EPIC Awards for outstanding achievement in the use of data analytics to create business value. The awards ceremony was held at PARTNERS, the Teradata User Group Conference and Expo.
Each winner received a custom-designed Teradata EPIC Awards crystal trophy. The judging panel of chief information officers, educators and technology journalists represented a cross-section of industries. They evaluated the customer submissions received from around the world.
“Tonight we honor companies who understand that we now operate in a data-driven economy. These customers have set themselves apart from their competitors by their leadership, innovation and excellence in creating a culture that recognizes that achievement of their business goals is contingent upon their leverage of data and analytics,” said Bob Fair, executive vice president and chief marketing and information officer, Teradata.
This year, Teradata customers were awarded in six categories for their extraordinary innovation in use of data analytics to create competitive advantage. Teradata also recognized Independent Software Vendors (ISV) and Systems Integrators(SI) for their efforts as partners in making outstanding business and technology contributions to Teradata and its customers.
By category, the winners are as follows.
Category: Analytical Excellence - improving business decision-making by increasing the accuracy or speed of business insights, and by delivering measurable improvements in organizational performance and/or productivity.

Project: Supply Chain Optimisation Through Analytics
Category: Customer Insights and Engagement – delivering customer insights from any channel or across channels and driving customer engagement, response, or loyalty or using real-time technologies to create a 360-degree view of the customer.
Winner: National Australia Bank (NAB)
Project: Customer Lifecycle Management Programs
Category: Integrated Marketing Management - integrating people, processes, and technologies across the entire marketing organization–and possibly outside the marketing organization to increase marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
Winner: Bristol-Myers Squibb
Project: Mercury Next Gen
Category: Integrated View of the Business – breaking down silos to deliver insights by connecting disparate systems, data sources and/or data structures across an organization.
Project: Global Business Management and Intelligence Platform
Category: Operational Excellence – improving operations, such as forecasting, inventory management or supply chain visibility, asset monitoring, sustainable business practices and resource optimization, or transparency, compliance or risk.

Project: Unilever ‘Partner to Win’ Procurement BI Platform
Category: On the Edge - industry-leading innovations based on emerging, breakthrough business applications such as big data analytics, web intelligence, social media analytics or telematics that connect multiple services, platforms, applications and tools into a cohesive and transparent analytical environment.

Project: SCE Revenue Protection Application
Category: Enterprise Intelligence – recognizing the partner who has worked with a customer to build a company-wide solution using the Teradata platform for strategic data analysis that is accessed by multiple departments and a broad user base.

Category: Big Data Intelligence - recognizing the partner who has leveraged one of Teradata’s new platform technologies including Aster or Hadoop to provide a unified, high-performance big data analytics system enabling the Teradata customer to make time-sensitive decisions by analyzing the broadest sets of relevant data.
