Teradata Japan Creates New “Teradata Japan Partner Award” Program
First awards presented to NTT DATA, Accenture and TIS
Teradata Japan, Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yukihiko Yoshikawa; hereinafter called “Teradata”) has created a new partner awards program called “Teradata Japan Partner Award” and presented three awards for outstanding performance in 2011. Teradata Japan recognized NTT DATA Corporation as Partner of the Year, presented Accenture Japan Ltd with the Enterprise Data Warehouse Award and granted TIS Inc. the Data Warehouse Appliance Award.
The Teradata Japan Partner Award program was created to further enhance the support and improve the services provided to customers by Teradata’s partners. Teradata Japan will continue to launch new award categories, over time, to cover its expanding range of products and solutions. The selection criteria for receiving recognition included how effectively each helped its customers transform data into valuable business intelligence and drive business innovation with Teradata technologies.
Partner of the Year: NTT DATA Corporation
The Partner of the Year award is given to a partner company that has accomplished the most significant achievements in the sale and implementation of Teradata’s data warehouse products and Professional Services.
Despite last year’s challenging business climate, NTT DATA Corporation proposed and implemented many innovative solutions that leveraged Teradata data warehouse products for a wide variety of customers primarily focused on the finance, retail and communications industries. In addition, the company actively addressed the cultivation of specialists in data warehousing on a continuous basis, training more than 100 Teradata database technicians during the previous year alone.
“NTT Data has provided value-added solutions to the Teradata platform family. We have deployed data warehouse solutions for a wide range of industries with the focus on the information systems for financial institutions. The award provides us a good opportunity to further enhance our strategic partnership with Teradata Japan. We will combine our system integration technology with Teradata’s technology, and continue to provide the best solutions to our customers,” said Eiji Yamada, director and executive vice president, NTT DATA Corporation.
Enterprise Data Warehouse Award: Accenture Japan Ltd.
The Enterprise Data Warehouse Award is given to a partner company that has accomplished the most significant achievements in the sale and implementation of a Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse, which integrates and centralizes the enterprise-wide utilization of data.
Accenture Japan Ltd., with excellent consulting services, worked with customers primarily in the financial sector on large-scale information utilization systems to deploy Teradata data warehouses. One result of these efforts is that Accenture Japan is currently working with these customers to implement large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse systems.
“We are very excited and honored to receive the award. The customers have a need to strategically use information so that they can challenge the fierce competitions in the domestic and global markets. In order to deploy the right data warehouse to support our customer’s initiatives, the data warehouse must be able to meet the workload demands, which includes the analysis of many types of information. We have decided that the Teradata 6000 Series, the flagship platform, was the best solution for advanced workload management and high scalability. At Accenture, the management and employees are committed to cooperating with Teradata, our global alliance partner, to support the needs of joint customers,” said Yosuke Goto, partner, Accenture Information Management Services, Accenture Japan Ltd.
Data Warehouse Appliance Award: TIS, Inc.
The Data Warehouse Appliance Award is given to a partner company that has accomplished the most significant achievements in the sale and implementation of Teradata data warehouse appliances.
TIS Inc., with its knowledge of how to build and operate data warehouses, submitted many sales proposals based on Teradata technologies. Furthermore, TIS Inc. expertly addressed the specific requests of each customer and completed implementations speedily by taking advantage of the benefits of the data warehouse appliance platform.
“We are very grateful to be chosen for the Appliance Award. TIS has gained expertise through our proposals and implementations of Teradata data warehouses. We are delighted that our activities were recognized. Our customers are paying special attention to these challenges: integration of data marts, development of effective business intelligence (BI) systems, and cost cutting and enhancement of information analysis, such as big data analysis. We believe that Teradata platforms are the key technology to solve these problems. We’ll continue to maintain and expand our close cooperation. For our customers, TIS will provide a total solution that includes Teradata data warehouses and technology, such as BI, extract, transform and load, and other tools,” said Shuji Yamamoto, executive officer division manager, Eastern Japan Regional Operation Div. 1, Industries and Solutions, SBU. TIS Inc.
