Streamlined cost-effective deployment reduces risk and brings together Teradata, Teradata Aster and Hadoop data environments for faster value
WASHINGTON, DC — Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the leading analytic data solutions company, today announced new Analytic Architecture Services to accelerate deployment of the Teradata® Unified Data Architecture™ that captures and analyzes both structured and multi-structured data.
The Analytic Architecture Services are based on Teradata’s global best practices and built upon Teradata’s deep expertise, skill, industry knowledge and leading industry assets such as Teradata Logical Data Models and Data Integration Roadmap.
These new services, available globally, begin by unifying a customer’s view of its business, information, applications, and systems. Teradata’s best practices look at each of these four major components to ensure success:
- Business architecture – a company’s priorities and approved projects.
- Information architecture – the data management needs and requirements such as master data management and data quality, security and privacy.
- Application architecture – the applications business users consider core to the integrated data environment.
- Systems architecture – physical system components of the integrated data environment.
By bringing together these different viewpoints of an organization’s operations, Teradata’s data warehouse experts can design the right data warehouse architecture to meet an organization’s current needs while providing the flexibility to meet future needs.

The Analytic Architecture Services provide a new set of industry-specific Solution Model Building Blocks to accelerate the development of the data warehouse. This collection of assets includes templates, data models, pre-defined mappings, and semantic layers. Solution Model Building Blocks are built around popular business opportunities such as multi-channel attribution in retail banking, mobile revenue analytics in telecommunication, quality of care in healthcare, and claim analytics in insurance.
The new tools and frameworks within the Analytic Architecture Services include documented Principles and Advocated Positions, such as knowledge that has been codified in guidelines for data warehouse design/construction, and a set of design patterns, such as reusable code templates for data loading and integration. The services also include other industry-specific assets to help customers weigh the pros and cons of a particular technology or approach. The design patterns accelerate data warehouse and business intelligence implementations in areas such as data integration, availability and data synchronization.
